In interviews about the letter, according to the newspaper, Tartaglione said Epstein wrote that investigators looked into it for months but “found nothing.” According to Tartaglione, the note said: “What do you want me to do, for me to start crying? Time to say goodbye.” The prisoner stated that he gave the note to his lawyer, as a precaution in case Epstein accused him of assault again. The newspaper says that the note was sealed by a federal judge and is part of the criminal case against Tartaglione. The report states that the investigators who investigated Epstein’s death did not have access to the document. A spokesperson for the New York Court declined to comment on the document, according to the NYT. The Justice Department told the newspaper it is not aware of the letter.
