Barbie Ferreira is opening up about the aftermath of her Euphoria exit.
The 29-year-old actress previously Katherine “Kat” Hernandez in seasons one and two, before exiting the series before season three came about.
In a new interview, she reacted to public opinion surrounding her exit, and the recent revelation of Labrinth, who did music for the show in the first two seasons, calling out the show and creator Sam Levinson.
“It was a big lesson in having a public career: I have no control over public opinion,” she told Bustle. “I had to practice big acceptance… I’ve obviously never been through a public discourse like that.”
She also called the release of the show’s third season “funny timing” as it lined up with her own new movies, Faces of Death and Mile End Kicks, adding, “I don’t know what that means from the universe.”
While she’s not in it, she does plan on watching season three.
“I want to see where the characters go and I love the girls. I don’t think [any of the actors know] what’s going on — I think they only get their specific sides of the script,” she shared.
Barbie also addressed Labrinth coming out and railing against the show and writer/creator Sam Levinson.
“That’s what I didn’t expect at all. People ask me, but I literally don’t know what’s going on at all,” the actress said. “That sh-t is locked up, and honestly, I don’t ask or pry. I never actually said anything about the show. All I said was I’m not on it anymore, and I told people why: The story ended.”
If you missed it, Barbie recently shared the true story behind her Euphoria exit, and she also reacted to seeing the season three trailers.
