Man attacks nun in Jerusalem A man was arrested after attacking a nun in Jerusalem, on Tuesday (28). The Israel Police released images of the action this Thursday (30). See the video above. The case took place in an area close to King David’s Tomb. The images show the moment a man runs and hits the victim in the back. The 48-year-old nun is Catholic. In the recording, she falls to the ground and is kicked by the attacker, who ends up restrained by another man who was passing by. Another image released by police shows that the victim suffered injuries to his face. According to the corporation, the suspect is 36 years old. He was located hours after the attack and arrested. Authorities said he will be investigated for racist aggression. To AFP, Father Olivier Poquillon, director of the French School of Biblical and Archaeological Research in Jerusalem, stated that the nun is a researcher at the institution. “She felt someone approach her from behind and throw her with all their force against a rock,” he said. “While the sister was on the ground, the man began repeatedly kicking her.” On a social network, the Israel Police stated that it “treats any attack against members of the clergy and religious communities with the utmost seriousness and adopts a zero tolerance policy against all acts of violence.” “In a city sacred to Jews, Christians and Muslims, the corporation says it remains committed to protecting all communities and ensuring that those responsible for violent acts are held accountable,” it published.
