Musk shared a video in which Sánchez presents the new regulatory package. Commenting on the content, the businessman wrote: “Dirty Sánchez is a tyrant and a traitor to the Spanish people.” Musk used a pejorative pun with the Spanish prime minister’s name in the publication and ended the content with a feces emoji.

According to information released by the Spanish government, the measures announced by Sánchez include banning access to social media for minors under 16, requiring effective age verification systems and holding platform executives legally responsible for “infractions” committed on their services.

As detailed by Sánchez himself during a speech at the World Government Summit, held in Dubai, the package of measures also foresees the criminalization of manipulation of algorithms and the amplification of illegal content, in addition to the creation of a tracking system to measure what the government calls the “footprint of hate and polarization” on networks.

According to the Spanish Prime Minister, the government will work together with the Prosecutor’s Office to investigate possible infractions committed by platforms such as X, TikTok and Instagram, including artificial intelligence tools, including Grok, from Musk’s xAi.
