After previously attacking many female reporters about their appearance when they ask him tough questions, Donald Trump went out of his way to praise a male reporter for being “handsome.”
The 79-year-old president spoke to assembled members of the press outside of the White House on Thursday (April 16).
While fielding questions about Iran, the war in Ukraine and his recent battle with the pope, Trump was quick to praise a reporter who asked him a soft question about political parties in the United States.
“I love this question. This is the greatest guy. Look how handsome he is. What a great guy he is,” the president raved over the reporter, who has not yet been identified.

“Do your policies like no tax on tips, no tax on overtime show that the Democrat party is no longer the party of the working class, and the Republican party, under your leadership, actually is?” the reporter had asked him.
The president replied, “Yes, the Democrats don’t know what they’re doing. They want to tax everybody out of business. They want men playing in women’s sports. They don’t want voter ID. They don’t know what they’re doing.”
He continued, saying, “We’ve had an unbelievable run, and the people getting their tax returns and they’re coming back and they’re ending up getting five, six, $7,000 more than they thought possible.”
In recent months, the president has generated headlines for referring to a female reporter as “piggy” and another as being “stupid and nasty” when they’ve asked questions he didn’t like.
