During the visit, Trump and Melania took Charles and Camilla to see the beehive installed in the gardens of the official residence. The structure has a shape inspired by the White House itself. In the document, Adams describes meeting King George III, when he was received at St. James’s Palace as an American representative. The letter reports on the ceremony and cites the diplomat’s speech to the monarch, in which he stated that he would work to reestablish friendship between the two countries. The letter also includes the king’s response, who said he was “the last to consent to the separation”, but that he would be the first to respond to the United States’ friendship. 📋 Table project The President of the United States, Donald Trump, at the ‘Resolute’ table REUTERS/Kylie Cooper King Charles presented Trump with a faithful copy of the Resolute Table project, which is used by the President of the United States. The drawings show the front, top and projection of the table, which is currently in the Oval Office. The table was made from wood from the British ship HMS Resolute. The vessel was recovered by the United States and returned to the United Kingdom in 1856 as a gesture of goodwill. Years later, the wood was used to make the table, which was given to President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1880 as a gift from Queen Victoria. 🔔 Submarine bell King Charles presents Trump with a British submarine bell Brendan Smialowski/AFP The king also gave Trump the original bell from the British submarine HMS Trump, used by the Royal Navy during the Second World War. The vessel was launched in 1944 and operated mainly in the Pacific, on missions against Japanese forces. The name of the submarine is not related to the Trump family surname. In English, the word “trump” can be translated as “trump card”. The gift was delivered by Charles during a gala dinner at the White House. When speaking in front of the guests and the American president, the king made a joke. “May it serve as a testament to our shared history as a nation and bright future. And if you need to get in touch, just give us a touch.” 💎 Brooch Queen Camilla and First Lady Melania Trump during a royal visit to the USA on April 28, 2026 Chris Jackson/Pool via REUTERS Queen Camilla presented Melania with a brooch by famous British designer Fiona Rae.
