Businessman Elon Musk reacted to the operation against the X offices in Paris, this Tuesday, classifying as “a political attack” the procedure against the headquarters of the American social network opened by the French courts.
The billionaire was summoned to appear as the person responsible for the platform for interrogation on April 20th.
On his social networks, Musk reproduced a statement in which he points out that the operation is based on “political motivations” based on allegations of algorithm manipulation and alleged fraudulent data extraction.
“We are disappointed with this development, but not surprised”, said the businessman, who, in an attempt to gain strength from the procedure led by the Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office, highlighted that there was wide media coverage of the case, “which demonstrates that it constitutes an abusive judicial act that aims to achieve illegitimate political objectives rather than favoring the fair application of the law”.
In his view, what the Paris MP intends is to put pressure on the direction of X in the USA through its French subsidiary.
Musk insisted, above all, that the justifications given for the search and seizure are not sustainable and that X “categorically rejects having committed the slightest infraction”.
Therefore, it argues that the investigation “violates French law” and violates freedom of expression, and that X intends to defend “its fundamental rights and those of its users”.
Musk does not say at any point whether he intends to attend the interrogation on April 20th, for which the executive director of
The Paris MP’s investigation originates from two complaints from January 12 and July 9, 2025, expanded with others about the use of Grok, X’s artificial intelligence, used to disseminate denialist content and deepfakes of a sexual nature.
Among the charges analyzed are those of “complicity in the possession of images of minors of a pedopornographic nature”, “attack against the representation of the person (deepfakes of a sexual nature)”, “fraudulent extraction of data from an automated data processing system, in an organized group” and manipulation of algorithms or IT systems.
