Lufthansa continues to expand its fleet with special external paintwork to celebrate its 100 years of history.
The latest reinforcement is an Airbus A350-900registration D-AIXL, which recently landed in Munich and officially joined the group of aircraft decorated for the centenary.
To date, the company has already presented two aircraft with the commemorative identity: a Boeing 787-9 (D-ABPU) and an Airbus A320neo (D-AING).

With the arrival of the A350-900, Lufthansa moves towards the so-called “complete set” announced for the celebrations, which should also include an Airbus A380, a Boeing 747-8 and the first Airbus A350-1000 in the company’s fleet.
In addition to what was officially planned, the company surprised by revealing an additional external paintwork that had not been announced. An Airbus A321ceo, registration D-AISZ, received the special livery known as “Parable” in Norwich, expanding the visual scope of the centenary celebrations.
Interestingly, this scheme is not unprecedented in the company’s history. Another Airbus A321, registration D-AIRX, operated with a similar external livery between 2005 and 2014.
At the time, the design was known as “50th Anniversary Retro” and celebrated the 50th anniversary of Lufthansa’s rebirth in 1955, after the Second World War.

Now, 21 years after that honor, the company revives the visual concept to mark an even more symbolic achievement: Lufthansa’s centenary, transforming its fleet into an aerial showcase of its own history.
