Trump suspends dialogue with Iran and says “help is coming”

US President Donald Trump raised his tone against the Iranian regime this Tuesday (13) by announcing that he had canceled all channels of dialogue with the authorities in that country. The death toll in recent weeks has been updated to around two thousand, according to official data.

Through a publication in Truth Social, the Republican leader also encouraged protesters to continue their protests and “take over institutions”.

“Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING – TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!!,” Trump wrote on social media.

“Save the names of the murderers and attackers. They will pay a heavy price,” he continued. “I have canceled all meetings with Iranian officials until the senseless killing of protesters STOP. HELP IS ON THE WAY,” he added.

Trump’s new statement goes against what he had suggested last Sunday, when he said he was open to negotiations with the Iranian regime after receiving contact from the country’s authorities over the weekend. At the time, he stated that a meeting was being organized, but that the US could act before then to stop the violence against the protesters.

The US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) updated its data this Tuesday, recording at least 1,850 deaths of protesters in more than two weeks of protests against the ayatollahs’ regime. The organization’s reports also indicate that at least 16,784 people were arrested during this period and their lives were at risk.

Trump is scheduled to meet Tuesday afternoon with his senior national security team to discuss his options regarding Iran.
