According to her, the agents were attacked while trying to remove a vehicle that had become stuck in the snow. “These vehicle attacks are acts of domestic terrorism. The mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, criticized the actions of federal agents. “Immigration agents are causing chaos in our city,” he said. “We demand that ICE leave the city and state immediately. We stand with the immigrant and refugee communities.” The case represents an escalation in immigration operations carried out by the Trump administration in large American cities. According to authorities, this is at least the fifth death recorded in actions of this type in different states since 2024. Minneapolis and neighboring St. Paul have been on alert since the DHS announced, on Tuesday (6), the start of a major migration offensive in the region. Around 2,000 agents and officers are expected to participate in the operation, which is linked, in part, to investigations into alleged fraud involving residents of Somali origin.
