Nicole Kidman is opening up more about her desire to become a death doula.
The 58-year-old actress previously shared that she is interested in learning to be one and has discovered she has the right “personality type” to do it.
“I think it’s fascinating,” Nicole told Hoda Kotb during the HISTORYTalks event that took place over the weekend in Philadelphia, via People. “It’s, it’s a really fascinating, it’s very beautiful and you have to be a certain personality to be able to do it, but I found out that I’m actually that personality.”

She continued, “It’s very important to me. There is always suffering in life, right? But if there [are] people there who can help with that and can help those final stages be less painful, you can feel the connection and the love, then that is a lovely thing to be able to do. So that’s what I’m exploring.”
Nicole said she believes death doulas are a “huge necessity” because of the “loneliness” some people face when they’re “in [that] stage of life.”
She first shared her new career goal while in a discussion hosted earlier this month at the University of San Francisco’s War Memorial Gym.
The Babygirl actress has also talked about how the death of her mother deeply affected her and the “harrowing” moment when she learned of her death while attending the Venice Film Festival. More details here.
