The President of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Thursday (8) that the Venezuelan opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner, María Corina Machado, should travel to Washington next week, and said he was “looking forward” to meeting with her.
“I understand that she will come sometime next week. I look forward to greeting her,” the American president told Fox News Channel.
In an interview with the same broadcaster, Corina Machado stated that she would like to award the Nobel Prize to Trump for his commitment to returning democracy to Venezuela.
“I heard she wanted to do this. It would be a great honor,” Trump said when asked about this gesture.
