Venezuela’s interim dictator, Delcy Rodríguez, said this Tuesday (6) that there is no “external agent” governing the Caribbean country, in response to United States President Donald Trump.
“We are here governing with the people. The Venezuelan government administers our country, no one else. There is no external agent governing Venezuela. Personally, to those who threaten me, I say: my destiny is decided only by God. That is my answer”, declared Rodríguez, in an event broadcast by the state broadcaster Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).
According to information from the website Efecto Cocuyo, the interim dictator said that the Venezuelan people are “marching in the streets” to demand the release of dictator Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, captured in a United States military action on Saturday (3).
“We strengthen ourselves, we grow spiritually to face challenges, aggressions, threats”, he stated.
After Maduro’s capture, Trump said that the United States will manage Venezuela until there is a transition of power in the country. Afterwards, he stated that members of his administration, such as Secretaries of State, Marco Rubio, and Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, will form a group to coordinate this transition and that Rodríguez is “cooperating”.
