🔎What are OPEC and OPEC+? ? OPEC was created in 1960 to try to control the amount of oil available in the world and influence its price. Today, it has 12 members, mainly from the Middle East and Africa. OPEC+ (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and Allies), created in 2016, brings together this main group and 11 other producing countries, which meet regularly to decide on the sale of oil on the international market.
