Olivia Wilde has a sense of humor about her viral moment.
The 42-year-old Don’t Worry Darling star and director recently responded to a photo going viral following an appearance at the 2026 San Francisco International Film Festival last month.
If you haven’t seen, a screenshot from a video of herself being interviewed by SFGATE on the red carpet at the event began circulating online, and people began commenting on her seemingly gaunt appearance.
In a video response posted on Sunday (May 3) to her Instagram, Olivia‘s brother Charles Cockburn is heard asking: “Olivia Wilde, do you care to address recent rumors that you’re a resurrected corpse?”
The video also included a side-by-side photo with Gollum from The Lord of the Rings.
“Listen, that is a fisheye lens. And I admit, is that my best angle? Was that my best ever look? No, it’s a startling image,” Olivia said in response.
“I don’t know why I was so close to the camera. I didn’t have to be. That’s not the truth,” she laughed, adding: “I’m not dead.”
“Leave it to your little brother to give you the maximum amount of s–t,” she captioned the video, which you can see on her Instagram Story.
