In light of the case, the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, stated that any measure will depend on the presentation of overwhelming evidence by the United States. According to her, if there is sufficient evidence, the Mexican prosecutor’s office will act in accordance with the law. Otherwise, the accusations may be political in nature.
