Donald Trump and Melania Trump welcomed the King and Queen of England to the White House today (April 28) as part of their state visit to Washington, DC.
They organized a big ceremonial event on the South Lawn of the White House, and partook in a balcony wave – similar to what we see with the British royal family on occasion.

During today’s state visit event, ceremonial military performers in traditional British-style “red coat” uniforms appeared as part of the formal honors on the South Lawn.
In American history, “redcoats” was the nickname colonists gave to soldiers of the British Army during the colonial era and the American Revolutionary War, referring to their distinctive red uniforms and their role as representatives of British imperial rule.
“President Trump has always had great respect for King Charles, and their relationship was further strengthened by the president’s historic visit to the United Kingdom last year,” White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said before the visit. “The president looks forward to a special visit by Their Majesties, which will include a beautiful state dinner and multiple events throughout the week.”
King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived to the USA yesterday.
