Tristan Thompson Seeks Conservatorship Over Brother Amari

by Syndicated News

Tristan Thompson is seeking to take further legal responsibilities for his younger brother Amari Thompson.

On April 27, the NBA star filed for a limited conservatorship over the 19-year-old, who “suffers from an intellectual disability and developmental delay and is unable to take care of his personal needs,” according to court documents obtained by E! News.

The filing stated that Amari is “unable to handle any financial transactions,” as well as “unable to live independently and relies on” caretakers such as Tristan, who shares kids True8, and Tatum3, with ex Khloe Kardashian.

In fact, Khloe has been candid about her involvement in caring for Amari following the sudden death of his and Tristan’s mom Andrea Thompson in 2023, welcoming the brothers into her Los Angeles home in the wake of the family tragedy.

“I’m strong enough and brave enough to be a support system for someone else that has no other support system right now,” Khloe, who broke up with Tristan in 2021 amid a paternity scandal, shared in a 2023 episode of The Kardashians. “You don’t have to treat me right for me to treat you right—it’s not the way I was raised.”
