Tim Tebow is mourning the death of his dad, Bob.

On Friday (April 24), the 38-year-old former NFL player announced on Instagram that his father died at the age of 78 following a battle with Parkinson’s disease.

“Heaven ushered in a hero of the faith last night as my Dad was welcomed home!” Tim began his message. “Many will say sorry for your loss but the truth is he’s not lost, we know exactly where he is. He’s home. Forever!”

Keep reading to find out more…“I asked him last week what he looked forward to most about Heaven, and he simply said, ‘Jesus,’” Tim continued. “He couldn’t wait to see Jesus face to face. Praise God that his wait is over. Death has been swallowed up in victory. He’s healed and whole now.

“So we don’t mourn as those with no hope,” he concluded. “See you soon Dad!”

Along with his message, Tim shared a carousel of photos of his dad over the years.

Back in 2016, Tim spoke to People about his father’s Parkinson’s disease diagnosis. He said that his dad’s diagnosis inspired him to reassess his priorities.

“I love being around him,” Tim said at the time. “We watch ball, talk ball. But I also go to him for advice about spiritual questions. There are times where he sees something from a different place than I do.”

Our thoughts are with Tim Tebow and his family at this time. RIP.
