The cast of Spaceballs is together again!
Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman, and Daphne Zuniga attended CinemaCon 2026 to promote the highly-anticipated sequel to their 1987 Star Wars spoof movie on Wednesday evening (April 15) held at The Dolby Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Newcomers also in attendance included Bill‘s son Lewis Pullman and Josh Gad along with director Josh Greenbaum.
During the convention, the cast announced that the sequel will officially be titled Spaceballs: The New One.
While Mel Brooks – who directed the first movie and will be reprising his roles as Yogurt and President Skroob for the sequel – wasn’t able to attend the convention, he did a appear in a pre-recorded clip to explain why the sequel isn’t titled Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money.
Keep reading to find out more…“Because after all these years, I found the money. It was in my basement,” Mel joked before mentioning that fans have been bugging him for decades about another movie.
He also teased that the sequel “is just like the old one, only newer.”
“I’ll see you at the movies, and may the Schwartz be with you,” Mel concluded, bringing back his Yoda-esque catchphrase from the original film.
According to a studio release, plot details for the sequel “are being kept under lock, key, and an industrial-strength Schwartz shield.”
Spaceballs: The New One is currently scheduled to hit theaters on April 23, 2027. You can see the full cast list here!
