Directed by Jonathan Wright, the movie is written by Jennifer Archer, based on her 2025 debut novel of the same name. Constantin Film is executive-producing and is a financier.
“Jennifer Archer has crafted a poignant and witty love story full of richly complicated yet relatable characters,” Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer shared in a statement. “With young adult themes of heartache and hope in an uncertain world, this is the right moment for this film. Into the Deep Blue is a wide, commercial feature with a wonderful ensemble cast and as we expand our reach to champion films in all stages of their life cycle, this is exactly the type of project that Constantin Film is looking to support.”
In an interview from last year, Luke, who came out publicly as gay in 2008, opened up about developing a queer Christmas movie for Hallmark Channel and shared what it was like playing a straight character in the Apple TV series Platonic.
