Hunter Biden has relocated out of the United States.
In court documents filed last week, it was revealed that Hunter, 56, moved out of the country shortly after his father Joe Biden‘s presidential term ended in January 2025.
Keep reading to find out more…Hunter‘s attorney, Barry Coburn, filed a 14-page document in a civil lawsuit over unpaid legal fees on April 6, according to People. In the filing, it mentions, “Mr. Biden lives abroad.” The attorney declined to offer more details.
As of right now, it’s unclear where Hunter relocated to, but in a podcast interview from November 2025, he said that he was splitting his time between the U.S. and Cape Town, South Africa, where his wife Melissa Cohen Biden originally hails from.
The couple had been living in California since getting married in 2019.
“When all the all of the political and personal stuff came to an end in the last six months, I had always promised that we would spend some time over here,” Hunter said on the South Africa-based Wide Awake Podcast at the time. “I’ve fallen madly in love with Cape Town. You guys do not know how good you have it here. It’s the most beautiful city in the world.”
In that same interview, Hunter noted noted that most of the houses around the home he rented in Malibu, Calif., were burned down in the 2024 Palisades fire, “so we can’t go back anyway.”
Weeks before leaving the White House, President Biden pardoned Hunter.
