Just when you thought the global GR Yaris couldn’t get any cooler, Toyota went and debuted this. It’s called the GR Yaris Morizo RR—a limited Yaris designed for the track. It made its world debut at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon.
The Morizo RR is a limited-run GR Yaris that leans hard into its motorsports DNA. Developed with direct input from Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda, the Morizo RR builds on lessons learned from endurance racing—including the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
The car uses the same Direct Automatic transmission from the GR Corolla here in the States, tuned for faster shifts and improved control. The suspension also gets even sharper, and there’s a new dedicated 4WD mode with a 50:50 torque split.
