This Sunday (11), the Iranian government declared that it could attack Israel if the United States intervenes militarily in the country. In response, Israeli authorities said they were on high alert.
Tehran’s threat came after US President Donald Trump said he was “ready to help” if the crackdown on protesters in Iran intensified.
The anti-government protests, which began at the end of last year, have already left at least 582 people dead.
American media reported that Trump was given options for possible attacks, including actions on non-military sites in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
Meanwhile, the president of the Iranian Parliament said that US bases and ships could also be considered targets, further raising tension in the region.
