The United States has signed a contract worth up to $8.58 billion with Boeing to develop and manufacture a new F-15IA fighter jet for the Israeli Air Force.

As part of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, the contract will initially deliver 25 aircraft, with options for an additional 25 aircraft. Production is expected to take place primarily in St. Louis until the end of 2035.

The contract includes all stages of the program including design, system integration, testing, production and delivery. At the time of the contract award, $840 million had already been allocated under the management of the U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. The contract was executed without competitive bidding and demonstrates the importance of strategic military cooperation between the United States and Israel.

Developed specifically for Israel’s operational requirements, the F-15IA will be equipped with advanced avionics, sensors, weapons systems and customized electronic warfare capabilities. The new program will maintain the F-15 production line, allowing Israel to update its older fleet while retaining its long-range capabilities and high payload alongside the F-35I and modernized F-16.
