Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni‘s It Ends With Us legal battle has come to an end.
After a year and a half nasty legal battle, the 38-year-old actress and the 42-year-old actor/director reached a settlement and will no longer be going to trial after reaching a settlement deal on Monday (May 4).
The two ended their legal dispute after a court-ordered settlement conference last week, according to NBC News. The terms of the settlement were not made public.
Following the news of the settlement, Blake and Justin‘s attorneys released a joint statement where they expressed their feelings about moving on after this lengthy legal battle.
“The end product – the movie ‘It Ends With Us’ – is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life,” read the joint statement. “Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind.”
“We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard,” the statement continued. “We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.”
In December 2024, Blake first accused Justin of sexual harassment during production of their movie It Ends With Us, which Justin directed. She also alleged that Justin‘s production company, Wayfarer Studios, retaliated against her after she complained about alleged misconduct on the set of the film.
Justin has vehemently denied Blake‘s claims.
Before reaching this settlement, Blake and Justin‘s trial was scheduled to begin on May 18. Ahead of the trial, Judge Lewis Liman threw out 10 of the 13 claims in Blake’s lawsuit against Justin, including claims of harassment, defamation, and conspiracy.
The judge did allow three of her allegations to proceed to a trial, including claims of breach of contract, retaliation and aiding and abetting in retaliation. There were several celebrities that were expected to testify in court during the trial.
