Conflict in Lebanon puts thousands of pregnant women at risk

After four years immersed in an economic crisis, worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic, the explosion in the port of Beirut in August 2020 and a prolonged political vacuum, Lebanon launched its national health strategy, “Vision 2030”, in January 2023. At the time, the then Minister of Public Health, Firass Abiad, stated that the plan aimed to modernize the country’s health sector.
