São Paulo Civil Defense warns of persistent storms and rain this Friday (30)

by Marcelo Moreira

The Civil Defense of the State of São Paulo warns of the forecast of storms and persistent rain on Friday (30) in several regions of São Paulo. The rains are expected to increase in intensity throughout the day, due to the formation and action of a low pressure system on the state’s coast.

Given the forecast, the State Civil Defense will mobilize the Crisis Office in its face-to-face format. From 8 am on Friday, leaders of the institutions responsible for responding to emergencies will meet at the organization’s headquarters.

The objective is to optimize resources and speed up the response to events caused by intense rain, such as interruptions in energy supply, road blockages and other impacts on the population.

Authorities advise the population to follow official warnings and avoid risk areas during periods of intense rain. Never cross flooded or flooded areas. Residents of risk areas should pay attention to signs of landslides. In case of emergency, call Civil Defense by calling 199.
