The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro arrested, this Thursday (15), one of the main leaders of the criminal faction Comando Vermelho, which operated in Bahia. Jean Carlos Soares Jovita, 24 years old, organized drug trafficking in the Ilhéus region, in the south of the state, and was on the run from the Bahian justice system. He was located and arrested in Gardênia Azul, Southwest Zone of Rio.
According to information from the Civil Police of Bahia, Jean is also suspected of participating in the death of a military police officer and has an open preventive arrest warrant, issued by the 1st Jury Court, Criminal Executions and Alternative Measures of the District of Ilhéus.
The arrest was only possible through cooperation between the police forces of the two states. The capture was carried out by the Police Station for the Repression of Organized Criminal Actions and Special Inquiries (Draco-IE), integrated with the Undersecretariat of Intelligence (Ssinte) and the Coordination of Special Resources (Core), with support from the Civil Police of Bahia.
