IBC-BR rises 0.7% in November and exceeds market expectations

The Economic Activity Index (IBC-Br), considered a indicator of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), registered an increase of 0.70% in November compared to October, in data reported by the BC this Friday (16).

In the previous month, the index fell 0.10%. Economists’ expectation for the monthly data was an increase of 0.30%. In comparison with the same month of the previous year, the IBC-Br increased by 1.2%, while in 12 months it increased by 2.4%.

The services index grew 0.64%, after rising 0.05% in the previous month (revised from -0.23%); that of industry increased 0.79%, after falling 0.86% in October (revised, -0.74%); and taxes equivalent, in general terms, to the item of net taxes on products of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 1.13%, after falling 0.39%.
