Why is this wave of protests in Iran different from previous ones?

The total blocking of internet access, decreed last Thursday, aims to disconnect the population, but, at the same time, it feeds the vicious cycle, causing heavy costs to the country’s economy. This combination of factors makes it clear that fear is losing strength in the country, just as the regime seems to have little maneuver to implement short-term reforms.
