Eduardo Paes asks for product pricing on beaches

by Syndicated News

The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes (PSD-RJ), said this Saturday (10), through the social network X, that he requested a study to evaluate the possibility of pricing products sold on the beaches of the capital of Rio de Janeiro. Paes cited abuses and exorbitant prices charged by traders in the summer.

The mayor reported that he ordered the Public Order and Consumer Protection departments to begin an assessment to fix prices.

Paes used the example of places like Tel Aviv, in Israel, where prices, according to him, are equal among traders. The politician also reinforced that commerce on Rio’s beaches can only operate with authorization from the city hall. This includes stalls, kiosks, chair rentals and other activities. In the South Zone of Rio, sun lounger rentals can cost up to R$100.
