Based on this concept, the team removed the driver from the cab and transferred control of the vehicle to operators at a safe distance from the battlefield. One of the most important elements of the program is the implementation time: in just a few weeks, an analog truck was transformed into a fully connected, software-defined system – a process that would have traditionally taken years.

According to ARX Robotics, the concept heralds a new era of ground operations in which vehicles are evaluated not by the presence of a driver, but by their ability to deliver supplies and integrate various mission functions while keeping soldiers out of immediate danger zones.

The development was carried out in partnership with Daimler Truck AG, using a truck platform that already operates in thousands of units worldwide. The presentation confirms that off-the-shelf solutions can be quickly adapted to military applications and result in ready-to-deploy systems that are in line with the digitalization and automation requirements of contemporary conflicts.
