A man whose car was broken into and whose toll payment device was stolen was left stunned when he discovered the thief had left his phone behind.

The owner of the burglarized car, who calls himself the “CEO of Maryland,” posted a video on his TikTok profile to talk about what happened. With the thief’s phone in hand, he confronted the criminal immediately after discovering his identity.

“Okay, as your name Billy Strickland is, thank you for breaking into my car at Marley Station shopping center last night. You have mine E-ZPass stolen, but you left your phone behind. Do you want it back or what?” he joked in the clip.

In the comments, viewers were amused by the tragic situation and suggested possible acts of revenge. “I would use his phone to call his mom,” one TikTok user wrote.

“No, and I repeat, do not use his phone to send threatening comments to the president,” another joked. “I hope you like the E-ZPass reported stolen so it records a photo when used…just saying,” a third user suggested.

Meanwhile, other commenters suggested that the phone left behind probably didn’t even belong to the thief.

“I know you think you got him, but how do you know the thief didn’t steal Billy’s phone from the mall parking lot?” reflected one.

“Or Billy’s phone was stolen from another car and fell into yours. There’s never just one car break-in in an area,” another user analyzed.
