A man whose car was broken into and his toll machine stolen was stunned when he realized the thief had left his phone behind.

The owner of the broken-in car, who describes himself as the “CEO of Maryland,” posted a video on his TikTok profile to explain what happened. With the thief’s cell phone in his hand, he confronted the perpetrator directly after finding out his identity.

“Okay, if your name Billy Strickland is, thank you for breaking into my car at Marley Station Mall last night. You have mine E-ZPass stolen but left your phone behind. Do you want it back or what?” he joked in the video.

In the comments, users were amused by the tragic situation and suggested possible revenge actions. “I would use his phone to call his mom,” one TikTok user wrote.

“No, and I repeat, do not use your phone to send threatening comments to the president,” joked another. “I hope you have this E-ZPass reported stolen so it will take a photo when used… just as a heads up,” a third user suggested.

Other commenters noted that the phone left behind probably didn’t even belong to the thief.

“I know you think you caught him, but how do you know the thief didn’t steal Billy’s phone in the mall parking lot?” one thought.

“Or Billy’s phone was stolen from another car and fell into yours. There’s never just one car theft in one area,” analyzed another user.
