‘Emily In Paris’ Actor Jeremy O. Harris Arrested in Japan on Suspicion of Drug Smuggling
Matt Prokop is entering the new year with new legal troubles.
The High School Musical 3 actor was arrested in Victoria, Tex., Dec. 24, where he faces multiple charges including possession or promotion of child pornography, the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to E! News Jan. 10.
Additionally, the 35-year-old—who dated Sarah Hyland for nearly five years before they parted ways in 2014—was charged with resisting arrest and violation of bond or protective order stemming from a case brought against him in 2024 for resisting arrest and aggravated assault of a family member, the Sheriff’s Office told E! News. He remains in custody with bail set at $117,500.
E! News has reached out to Prokop for comment but has not heard back.
Prokop—whose acting credits also include Hannah Montana, Good Luck Charlie and the TV movie Geek Charmingin which he starred opposite Hyland—has dealt with legal woes in the past, as the Modern Family alum was granted a restraining order against him in 2014, which her attorney confirmed to E! News at the time.
