At least 13 people have died after storms and blizzards hit northern Europe. The severe weather led to the closure of schools and power cuts for more than 300,000 people.
Germany was one of the most affected countries, recording cancellations of flights at Hamburg airport and the shutdown of several of the country’s main highways. In France, winds of up to 216 kilometers were recorded.
Scotland’s weather agency has issued an orange warning, predicting snow of up to 30 centimeters in some regions of the country.
