Eliza Samudio’s passport is found in apartment in Portugal

by Syndicated News

The Consulate General of Brazil in Lisbon reported that it received last Friday (2) the old passport of Eliza Silva Samudio, murdered in 2010 in a case of great national repercussion. The agency said that on the same day it notified the Brazilian government and was awaiting instructions on how to proceed. Eliza’s mother and brother also confirmed that they had been notified.

The document was located by a Brazilian who was in a holiday home with his family in Portugal, in December. In a note, Itamaraty announced this Tuesday (6) that it instructed the Consulate to send the passport back to Brazil, where it will remain available if the family wishes to receive it.

The passport was found in excellent condition, even after almost 20 years. It only contains a record of entry into Portugal in 2007, without any note of subsequent departure from the country.
