“The Secret Agent” wins Critics Choice Awards for Best Foreign Film

This Sunday (4), the awards ceremony for the 31st edition of the Critics Choice Awards 2026 took place, which awarded several films and TV series from 2025. The Brazilian film “The Secret Agent” was the big winner in the Best Foreign Film category.
Actor Wagner Moura, who plays the film’s protagonist, was also competing in the Best Actor category, but the award went to actor Timothée Chalamet.
In addition to “The Secret Agent”, the series “Drug Thieves” brought another nomination in the category of Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series.
The award is considered a “thermometer” for the Oscars, generating many expectations for the film to be nominated for the same category at the main Hollywood awards, in addition to Best Film and Actor. Nominations come out on January 22nd.
