New Year 2026 celebrations have already begun around the world. The turnaround began at 7 am Brasília time, in Kiribati, in the Pacific. At 8am, New Zealand welcomed 2026 with an impressive fireworks display at the Sky Tower. Two hours later, at 10 am, Australia celebrated the arrival of the new year with a grand party in Sydney Harbor, where the fireworks drew attention due to their synchronization along seven kilometers of the port. At noon, Japan, South Korea and North Korea entered 2026 with typical celebrations: in Seoul, the countdown was accompanied by the ringing of a traditional bell, while Pyongyang lit up with fireworks over the Taedong River.
