So, the Mercedes 1618 blue, which had only 40 km driven, ended up in the hands of the antique vehicle dealer Reginald Ricardofrom Campinas (SP).
Reginaldo bought the vehicle and resold it about two years ago to a collector. In conversation with the website UOLhe said he found out about the truck’s existence through a friend, who was close to the original owner.

Although he did not share how much he paid for the vehicle or the resale value, Reginaldo emphasized that the value was the same as a new truck with similar specifications.
The former owner, according to Reginaldo, bought the Mercedes 1618 blue and another identical truck, but painted white. While white was widely used, blue was kept as a kind of savings account at a time when Brazil was going through a “hyperinflation” problem.
Reginaldo reported that he was in excellent condition. The plastics were still protecting the plaid fabric seats, as if the truck had just left the dealership. The steering wheel and dashboard also showed no signs of use.

Although the mechanical part is “in order”, according to Reginaldo, this type of vehicle is intended for collectors. “It’s not worth paying a lot for an old new truck to drive around with it,” he said.
“If that were the case, the vehicle would lose its special features and become just a second-hand, little-used example,” added the expert.
