Saving is the main goal of Brazilians for 2026, according to a survey released by Datafolha this Sunday (28). The institute presented a list of 14 goals for next year, and those interviewed selected three of them.

2,002 people aged 16 or over were heard in person across Brazil, in 113 municipalities, between the 2nd and 4th of December. The margin of error is 2 percentage points, plus or minus.

According to the results, saving money is the goal of 44% of participants. While spending more time with family and friends was 37%. 25% of those interviewed preferred to take care of their body, whether by improving their diet or by starting physical activity. The option of working for yourself or opening a business was chosen by 23% of participants.

For 22%, the goal of the year is to take a course to learn a new professional skill. Tied at 20% are the goal of seeking help to take care of mental or emotional health and the goal of taking a long trip to another state or country. 17% of respondents want to spend less time on their cell phones. 14% of people who responded to the survey want to go back to studying or complete a course they had stopped doing.

12% of respondents want to learn a new foreign language. The goal of 11% of participants is to change jobs. Starting a new romantic relationship is the goal of 5% of those who responded to the survey. And also for 5%, the objective is to undergo aesthetic treatment, such as plastic surgery, liposuction or others. 1% said they have no goals. And 1% of participants did not know how to answer.
