US and Iran may resume talks in Pakistan this week

US Vice President JD Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf led their respective delegations in the first round of negotiations, and a series of issues were addressed, including the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz — through which around 20% of the world’s oil passes —, the Iranian nuclear program and international sanctions against Tehran.
