A strong 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck northern Japan this Monday (20), the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported, issuing a tsunami warning for waves of up to three meters. The earthquake occurred at 4:53 pm (local time; 4:53 am Brasília time) in Pacific waters, off the coast of Iwate prefecture, in the north of the country.
