- Porsche set a 6:50.863 Nürburgring lap with the 911 GT3 (992.2) Manthey.
- That improves on the 911 GT3 Manthey’s previous time by nearly five seconds.
- The Manthey Kit adds major aero and suspension upgrades, boosting downforce to up to 1,190 pounds in full attack mode.
Everyone seems to be chasing Nürburgring records these days. After the Corvette ZR1X posted a 6:49.275 lap, Ford clapped back with an even quicker 6:40.835. Not to be left out of the ‘Ring limelight, Porsche is back in the conversation with a new lap time for the 911 GT3 (992.2) fitted with the Manthey Kit.
Porsche took the GT3 Manthey to the Nürburgring and clocked a 6:50.863 time. That’s still a few seconds off the pace set by Chevy and Ford, but it marks a significant improvement—4.874 seconds quicker than the previous GT3 (992.1) Manthey lap, and 5.431 seconds faster than a standard, non-Manthey GT3. For context, a Manthey-equipped GT3 (992.1) managed an even quicker 6:45.389 lap earlier this year.
Of course, this isn’t your average 911. The Manthey Kit adds new front and rear wings designed for maximum downforce, a four-way adjustable coilover suspension with stiffer springs, and a redesigned underbody featuring turning vanes that are 39.0 inches longer than those on the standard GT3. This particular car also runs optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires for maximum grip.
Even in its mildest setup, the Manthey GT3 produces 782 pounds of downforce. In full attack mode—as equipped for this lap—that figure climbs to an impressive 1,190 pounds. For comparison, the Corvette ZR1X can generate up to 1,200 pounds at full tilt.
Power comes from the same naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six as the standard GT3, producing 518 horsepower and 342 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. Altogether, the GT3 Manthey weighs in at just 3,268 pounds.
Christoph Breuer, Director of Road Cars at Manthey Racing, said:
‘We’re thrilled that, under better conditions, we were able to improve our lap time once again with the 911 GT3 Manthey Kit. Ayhancan drove an incredible lap and showed what the kit is capable of—being nearly five seconds faster than its predecessor is a real testament to the development work and close collaboration with Porsche.’

Motor1’s Take: Porsche has always taken Nürburgring lap times seriously, and this latest run with the GT3 Manthey is proof. Shaving more than four seconds off its own record in essentially the same car is an impressive achievement.
