Kathryn Newton is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Cassie Lang.
The 29-year-old actress posted an Instagram reel on Friday (April 18) to confirm her return. Her last Marvel movie was the 2023 film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
In her video, she told her fans she got a “special” package while working and was excited to open it on camera.

Then she slowly reveals a small director’s chair with her name on the back. It’s how Marvel has been announcing all of the returning cast members for Avengers: Doomsday. But if you needed further proof, when she turns it around, the Doomsday logo is emblazoned across the front.
She also joked that the chair is so small because Cassie can get small, “or sometimes she’s big, it depends what’s happening.”
There have been 27 other actors already confirmed to be part of the massive new MCU movie coming out on December 19. It’s the film that will see Robert Downey Jr. take on the villainous Doctor Doom and fans are eager to watch the saga continue.
Kathryn is better known for her horror movie roles in projects like Ready or Not 2, Freaky, Abigail, and Lisa Frankenstein, but her portrayal of an older Cassie has also been generally well-received so fans are pleased to learn she’s coming back.
Stars RDJ and Chris Evans (who will also be back as Captain America) were at CinemaCon recently to promote a new movie format.
