The activist’s brother, Hamidreza Mohammadi, said the family fears for her life. “Every day I wake up in fear of receiving the news of her death. Words cannot describe the devastation our family is feeling. This is no longer just prison, this is death in slow motion,” he said. The activist has undergone three angioplasties in recent years and needs to be monitored by her own doctor at a specialized hospital in Tehran.
