Aidan Quinn is revealing why he wasn’t involved in Practical Magic 2.

The 67-year-old actor played the detective in the first movie, Gary Hallett, who became the love interest of Sandra Bullock‘s character Sally Owens.

While chatting with SPIN 1038, Aidan revealed that he hadn’t been asked to return to the film or he would have returned.

“Oh, yes, of course I would,” he said, regarding whether or not he would have come back after doing the successful 1998 film.

The interviewer joked that they should reach out to Nicole Kidman, but Aidan noted that it’s “already been done,” which is true since the film is completed and readying to be released later this year.

“Oh, yeah, lovely, lovely,” Aidan replied when asked about his experience making the first one. “They were both great to work with. Most of my stuff was with Sandy, but they were both phenomenal to work with. Yeah, we had a good time.”

Evan Rachel Wood is another actor not returning after playing Sally’s eldest daughter.
