The mayor of the city of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, announced in a video on social media the dismissal of the deputy secretary of Tourism, Rodolfo Marinho, and the president of SPTuris, Gustavo Pires. The decision was taken after the Metrópoles report exposed millions of reais in contracts without bidding between the MM Quarter agency, the Secretariat of Tourism and SPTuris.
According to investigations, the company is in the name of Nathália Carolina da Silva Souza, who was once a partner of Marinho. Still in the video, Nunes says that she asked the General Comptroller to investigate the case and that a power of attorney from Nathália was found addressed to the deputy secretary. Finally, Ricardo Nunes also took the opportunity to announce the new president of SPTuris.
Colonel Marcelo Vieira Salles, former commander of the Military Police and current deputy mayor of the Cathedral, will be appointed to the position to command the city’s tourism company. In a statement, SPTuris informed that it had opened an internal investigation to investigate the facts.
