The Defense Intelligence Agency of Ukraine (GUR) has received an armed patrol vessel, developed internally and financed by the Diana Podolianchuk Foundation, an official statement said.

As reported by the site Defence Blogthe new vessel was delivered by the Diana Podolianchuk Foundation last Thursday (1st), with the note describing it as a New Year transfer in support of maritime operations.

The vessel is an in-house developed project and is described as the first of its kind produced in Ukraine. There are currently few comparable platforms available on the global market. According to the intelligence service, it is expected to be used for operations throughout the Black Sea area.

«I thank all those who participated in the realization of this project. Thanks to these boats we can conduct special operations in the water with confidence and fight for our Black Sea,” said the lieutenant general Kyrylo Budanovhead of Ukrainian military intelligence, in a statement that accompanied the delivery.

The vessel is intended to provide fire cover and direct support to maritime operations conducted by Ukrainian military intelligence units. Among its main strengths is the modular armament configuration, which allows the installation of heavy machine guns and grenade launchers, replaceable according to mission requirements.

The hull and cabin of the vessel have anti-fragmentation and bulletproof protection, while each firing position is equipped with its own armored shield. The platform is also equipped with modern navigation, communication and command and control systems, which allow it to be used effectively in a wide range of operating conditions.

The vessel is 10 meters long and can carry up to two tons of payload, making it one of the largest currently in the Ukrainian military intelligence inventory. Its size and load capacity allow the transportation of personnel, armaments and mission equipment, while maintaining high maneuverability.
